Where the discipline comes from

Trustsmart doesn't yet have a named construction client to put on this page. What it has is twenty years of regulated-sector IT. 50+ orthodontic practices supported, with the kind of multi-location, mobile-workforce, project-data discipline that translates directly to a building firm. We'd rather earn your trust by being honest about that than pad this page with logos from a different sector.

The pressures your firm is actually under

Construction IT carries its own pressures. The workforce isn't in one place, the project data is valuable and growing, and downtime stalls jobs that are already running on tight margins and tighter schedules.

Your team isn't in one place, your IT shouldn't notice

Head office, site offices and mobile teams need the same files, email and support. Generalist IT sets up HQ and lets the rest fend for itself.

Project data carries weight that grows every year

Drawings, programmes, models and project files pile up across jobs. A lost backup or mis-shared folder lands in a project review with the client.

Downtime doesn't just cost time, it stalls the job

When email is down or files won't sync from a site office, work stops and deadlines slip. Reactive-only IT isn't IT a main contractor can afford.

Site connectivity is rarely as solid as head office assumes

A site office on a 4G router and an extension lead is not the HQ network. Connectivity has to be designed for site reality, not retro-fitted.

Reliable IT, wherever the work is

The four things a main contractor or building firm should be able to take for granted, and the four things we own, end to end, so you don't have to think about them.

IT that travels with the work

Secure access for site offices, mobile project teams and head-office staff, same files, same email, same identity, same support route, wherever the work is.

Project data, properly protected

Backups, access control, encryption and monitoring built around the sensitivity and commercial value of your project data, with tested restores, not assumed ones.

Support when something stops the job

Proactive monitoring sits behind the systems your teams rely on, so most issues are caught before a site manager rings in.

A real person, not a portal

Phone, email or WhatsApp, whichever your site team uses. A real person who knows your setup, not a ticket queue or a portal.

Let's talk about your setup

We manage the IT around your construction platforms

Most construction firms run on a recognised project-management platform. Procore, Asite, Viewpoint, Causeway, Buildertrend or another, alongside Microsoft 365 for email and files and an accounting system in the back office. The platforms themselves are specialist; the IT environment they run inside is what we own.

We'll be straight about this: we are not selling ourselves as a Procore implementation partner or a Causeway consultant. What we are is the firm that makes sure your identity, access, connectivity, devices and data are configured properly, so the platform you've chosen actually works reliably for your teams, on site and at head office.

A platform we haven't named? The same discipline applies, we manage the IT environment around it.

Compliance frameworks we work with

A note on language first. CDM, CITB and the site-safety regimes a main contractor lives under are not IT compliance frameworks, and we won't pretend they are. The frameworks below are the ones that shape how we configure the IT environment, staff and client data under GDPR, baseline cyber hygiene aligned to Cyber Essentials.

The principle is the same one we apply in regulated sectors. We don't tick boxes, we build the controls in so the controls work, and the evidence is already there when an insurer, a client or a tier-one main contractor asks for it. Compliance becomes a by-product of doing the IT properly.

What working with us looks like

A long-term relationship with a small, experienced team that gets to know your business and stays with it. That's what we sell. Not a portal, not SLA tiers.

1. Discovery

We sit down with whoever owns IT and walk through how the firm runs across head office and the site offices.

2. Onboarding

A structured handover from your current IT firm, without the office or the sites noticing. Most onboardings run in the background.

3. Day-to-day

Proactive monitoring across head office, site offices and mobile devices. When something breaks, you reach a real person who knows your environment.

4. Reviews

Regular reviews of what's happened and what's coming, kit refreshes, new site setups, growth plans. Recommendations sharpen over time.

The questions operations directors actually ask

Got a question we haven't covered? Call the number above, straight to a real engineer, no gatekeeping.

Are you a construction-specialist IT firm?

We'll be straight with you: our deepest existing track record is in regulated sectors. 20 years of clinical and orthodontic IT, 50+ practices supported. Construction is where we're applying that same discipline to a different shape of business. The IT problems we'd solve for a main contractor, multi-location working, mobile teams, sensitive project data, downtime that stops the job, are problems we already solve every day. If you'd rather work with a firm that can talk about ten years of contractor case studies, that's a fair call. If you'd rather work with a firm that can talk honestly about what it knows and what it doesn't, that's us.

Do you support our project-management platform?

We manage the underlying IT, identity, access and security around whichever construction platform you use. Procore, Asite, Viewpoint, Causeway, Buildertrend or another, and we can advise if you're choosing one. We won't pretend to be a Procore implementation partner; what we own is the IT environment those platforms run inside, so the platform itself works reliably for your teams.

Can you support our site offices as well as head office?

Yes, that's the shape of the problem we'd expect to solve. Head office, site offices, mobile project teams and back-office staff get the same access, the same security and the same support route, wherever they're working that day. We design site connectivity for site reality, not the assumption that every location looks like HQ.

How do you keep our project data and drawings safe?

Backups, access control, encryption and monitoring configured to the size, sensitivity and commercial value of your project data. We test restores rather than assume them, we control who can see what, and we evidence the controls. The data is safe, and the controls can be shown to be working if a client or insurer asks.

How fast do you respond when something is down?

We don't publish a hard SLA on this page because the honest answer depends on the issue and what's on fire, but the practical answer is: fast, by a real engineer, on whichever channel suits you. If a site office has lost connectivity or head office can't get into the accounts system, we'll be on it.

What does onboarding actually look like?

Structured, quiet, and finished without the business noticing. We audit your current setup, document what's there and what's missing, take secure handover of admin access from your existing provider, configure monitoring and backups properly, and brief your team on how to reach us. Most onboardings run in the background over a few weeks; from the site's point of view, nothing changes at all.

What happens when something goes seriously wrong?

You reach a real person who already knows your business. Phone, email or WhatsApp, whichever you'd rather, but for genuine incidents we move to a call and a hands-on response, remotely first, on-site where it's needed. Our monitoring usually catches the early signals before anyone rings in, which is most of the battle. When something can't wait, we'll be there.

Can we leave if it isn't working out?

Yes, and we make handovers clean, whether that's to the next IT firm or back to you. You're not locked in. We'd rather lose a client gracefully than keep one who isn't happy; that's how relationships in regulated sectors actually work, and it's the standard we'd bring to a construction relationship too.
